As I revealed back in April, my current daily driver is the new Audi RS4. It comes with a 2.9-litre V6 turbo engine packed under the bonnet, which should be able to generate approximately 444 bhp. But when we put the car to the test on the dyno, will the results match up with the specifications? Watch my latest Vlog to find out!
.
Question.. how is it on the roller dyno showing 460hp and they say at the crank? Then how much is at the wheels? Roller dynos are supposed to show power at the wheels not bhp
Is that 460 wheel hp or 460 crank hp?
A
How much does it cost to have your bhp tested on a dyno ?????
Why would they undersell their cars ? Why would they say it's less powerful ?
Did you go for the sports diff?
That's not gonna be the real life scenario
Same deal with modern BMW and Mercedes turbo engines….always about 5-10% over rated power. A way of cheating the insurance groupings system maybe? What is it about the Germans and lying about their figures (be it BHP or NOX)….
Great engine, and the dyno is entertaining and interesting!
What kind of Dyno was that? Not all dynos are created equal. Plus what correction?
I thought only 18-19 yo’s wore A&F? Or is it safe for old folks if you don’t pop the collar?
10 million
Cannot wait to get mine now on order…….Nogaro Blue of course……….
Audi always says they have less
Different dynos give different readings, is my experience.
Germans seem to rate their cars under the worst conditions, like on top of Everest, with 87 octane, and at the wheels. Others do it at the crank in perfect conditions.
This means nothing. Put it on a different dyno and it will have a different power output. This is only useful to see how much power you gain or lose when doing mods.
I know laws are tighter but that thing needs an exhaust badly
What a car… I'd love that car as a daily driver. Not that I need/have other cars. Something to think about, indeed. Luckily I have plenty of time to think since it seems these won't be available to order before february next year (yikes!). In Belgium, at least
What does it make to the wheels tho?
