Former Cuban president Fidel Castro dies at 90

The controversial former Cuban president who led the revolution that overthrew American-backed dictator Fulgencio Batista has died, according to the Cuban state TV agency. Castro stepped down from the presidency in 2008, and died on Friday after a long illness.


Fidel Castro’s death was announced by his brother Cuban President Raul Castro on state media.

With the death of Castro, at 90, one of modern world’s most epic lives has ended, & with it, an era of revolution that shaped our world.

Perhaps now he’s gone. The USA and Cuba may get along again? 🙂 The Whitehouse statement would suggest there is a hope. Not sure how trump will change that though:
