We’ve got the all-new, much loved Toyota GR Yaris going up against the Mercedes-AMG A45 S and Honda Civic Type R across a series of 13 challenges.
Mat’s brought these three beloved hot hatches together to find out which one is the must-have in 2021. From lap times and interiors through to prices and boy racer features, this video includes it all!
But which will come out on top – the 1.6-litre turbo powered Toyota GR Yaris, which can produce 261hp & 360Nm? Or perhaps the Civic Type R, which has a 2-litre turbo which will put down 320hp & 400Nm? Or maybe it’ll be the most powerful car here, the A45 S, which despite only having a 2-litre turbo, can produce a HUGE 421hp and 500Nm!
All we know is, this is NOT to be missed!

Most subjective mathematics ever. I had the AMG 1st, Type R 2nd, and Toyota 3rd, but they are all great cars. Performance wise though, AMG and Type R are much better. But Toyota did a great job with that little car. It is beautiful, and a good compromise in performance. All wheel drive, too, which is great. Fun video. A bit long, but entertaining throughout.
Am I the only that thinks that some of these ratings were REALLY stupid?
So the slowest car won the 0-60 test because the manufacturer released an inaccurate 0-60 time? How does that make any sense
Honda and Mercedes iteriors are trash because the is no handbrake lever

I have a problem with the way you did the 0-60 test. I mean, getting a 0.11s faster time on a 3.9s reference is a hell of a lot tougher than doing 0.18s faster on 5.9s. I think there should also be points for consistency. 0-60 should also be how consistently you can hit the time and not necessarily what's the fastest you can do.
Mat when he does a car sound check in 2030 we will not hear the exhaust we will hear the speakers becauz the fake rev feeling from the speakers………………
You get a lot for your money with the Merc… it even comes with fogged headlights from the factory!!!

Yaris is good. but AMG a45s is an absolute beast

Your pretty small as you actually fit in there through the driver's side. Also, how come you didn't use the Hyundai Veloster N – Line instead of a Mercedes AMG with 100+ more hp and AWD?
