Dumb test, as you're using trip computers to ascertain the car's fuel economy. Surely if you're going to prove/disprove economy, then the mpg should be measured, not calculated by a computer

There are other ways to improve fuel efficiency and emissions:

Tests: xcelplus.com.au/tests

 Mileage improved up to 36 % (Le Tourneau Uni)

 CO Emissions decreased 38 -76 %

 HC decreased 23 – 33 % (Bilsport)

 Soot decreased by 100 % (DR650)

 NOx decreased by 20 % (TUV)

 CO2 reduced 4.3 Ton (Cost-Benefit Analysis)

🙂

This tv show is the best for educational. remember I am from south Africa so we often look for quick wins and fixes so if we can go faster on less petrol or sometimes we use diesel then its good. Mister Mat please don't encourage us to drive stolen cars it is a problem in my country.

I drive a 25 year old honda that is rated epa mileage of 22/29 and I consistently get 30mpg with city driving. One person I know with a new midsize sports car that is rated 22/33 by epa gets just seventeen mpg, and he never uses air conditioner. Seven-fucking teen. My old car gets thirty.

Even though I have a lot to say I love it and I love it so I have to buy a few things and get to the top and I’ll get to see the other one and I can play with them all day long because I have a lot of fun and I don’t want to be able to

An NEDC is tested with the engine in the vehicle, not with the engine out of the vehicle as incorrectly stated at 0:47 in this video.

WLPT, is just as bad, the figure are still wide off the make. The best you can do us take the worst figure. As this will be the nearest to real world figures for mist drivers.

when you cut away the bullshit and illusion of progression thanks to the touch screens and software updates, the actual engineering has advanced very little. Many cars are the 'platform' with fairly superficial differences. The same with engines… Ford ran variations of its Pinto engine for about 40+ years as an example.

To be mentioned, high powerful cars with NA engines were not that far from NEDC figures – Like the "F" cars from Lexus only in around 5% lying territory in real-world scenarios. And that is quite good. Mercedes Benz or Volvo were absolutely out by 40-50+% sometimes…

Audi q3 45 engine, utter crap on fuel economy.
27mpg on an average speed of 22mph, over 5000 miles.
An r8 doesn’t do much worse!
